I had the chance to photograph a girl at her gymnastics meet this past weekend. I'm one of those photographers that will photograph anything at least once, most anything. I love a new challenge and took this as an adventure. As I started watching the gymnast warm up and then compete, it came to me that I should feel very comfortable in this arena. I was basically at a dressage show with no horses.

The girls were dressed in their show attire. They braided their manes so beautifully. They all had set test with special movements they had to perform, unless they were at a higher level, then they could perform kind of a free style. They had to wait for the judge to salute them and then they saluted at the beginning and end of their test. The judge had a helper, similar to a scribe, whom would hold up the scores after the final tally.
I had a wonderful time photographing gymnastics. I will have to study up some more for the next time I get to photograph this horseless dressage show!
